In practice the terms are used interchangeably. Both heat concentrate directly on a coil or ceramic element, as opposed to a dry herb vaporizer which heats flower, or a 510 battery which powers a pre-filled oil cartridge.

How long do wax pen coils last?

Two to four weeks with daily use. Flavour turning harsh or metallic is the signal to replace - a worn coil is the most common reason a pen that once worked well starts to taste bad.

Can I put wax in a normal vape pen?

No. A 510 battery is designed to power a pre-filled cartridge, not to heat raw concentrate. Putting wax directly on one will not vaporize properly and will foul the connection.

How do I clean a wax vaporizer?

Warm the chamber briefly to soften residue, then swab with a cotton bud dipped in isopropyl. Never submerge the battery. Clean every week or so - hardened residue is the main cause of weak vapor.
