Carb Caps for Dab Rigs & Bangers
A carb cap turns your banger into a low-temp dabbing machine — by restricting airflow it lowers the pressure inside, so concentrate vaporizes at a lower temperature for far better flavor. Below you'll find directional and bubble caps in collectible glass designs, shipping fast from the US.

How a carb cap works
A small accessory that makes a big difference to flavor:
Low-temp dabs
Capping traps heat and lowers pressure, vaporizing concentrate at a lower temp for smoother, tastier hits.
Directional
Angled-spout caps let you push airflow around the banger so nothing is left behind.
Bubble & spinner
Bubble caps spin terp pearls to keep oil moving; many double as a stylish display piece.
Fit
Most caps fit standard 25mm quartz bangers — check your banger diameter before buying.

Carb cap technique
The cap matters less than how you use it - three habits separate a good dab from a wasted one:
Cap timing
Cap after the concentrate starts to melt, not before. Capping a banger that is still too hot scorches the oil; capping too late lets vapor escape.
Spin, do not press
With a directional cap, rotate slowly to push the pool around the bucket walls. Oil that keeps moving vaporizes evenly instead of pooling and burning in one spot.
Lift to reset
Briefly lifting the cap lets in fresh air and drops the pressure again. Useful near the end of a dab when vapor production tails off.
Match the bucket
A cap that does not cover the opening leaks. Check your banger inner diameter - 25mm and 30mm are the common sizes.
Carb cap materials
Borosilicate glass
The standard. Handles heat well, lets you see the oil move, and is cheap enough to replace if dropped.
Quartz
Higher thermal tolerance than glass and less prone to thermal shock if it touches a hot bucket wall.
Ceramic
Retains heat longest, which suits low-temperature dabbing - but you cannot see the oil, so timing is by feel.
Frequently asked questions
What does a carb cap do?
It covers your banger to restrict airflow and lower the internal pressure, letting concentrate vaporize at a lower temperature for better flavor and less waste.
Do I need a carb cap to dab?
Not strictly, but it dramatically improves low-temp dabs — you get more flavor, smoother hits and you use less concentrate.
What size carb cap do I need?
Match it to your banger. Most modern quartz bangers are 25mm, and most caps are made to fit that standard — check the diameter to be sure.
What is a directional carb cap?
One with an angled spout you rotate to steer airflow around the banger, helping vaporize every bit of concentrate evenly.
Carb cap vs terp pearls — do I need both?
They work together: a spinner carb cap directs air to spin terp pearls, which keep the oil moving for even, complete vaporization.
Do I really need a carb cap?
For low-temperature dabbing, yes. The cap restricts airflow over the bucket, lowering pressure so the concentrate vaporizes at a lower temperature. Without one, low-temp oil simply pools and never fully vaporizes.
What size carb cap do I need?
Match the inner diameter of your banger - 25mm and 30mm cover most modern bangers. A cap that does not fully cover the opening will not hold pressure.
What is the difference between a directional and a bubble cap?
A directional cap has an angled airflow channel you rotate to push oil around the bucket. A bubble cap sits in the opening and restricts airflow without directing it. Directional caps give more control; bubble caps are simpler.
Why does my dab taste burnt even with a cap?
Almost always temperature, not the cap. Let the banger cool longer before dropping the concentrate - 30-45 seconds for a 4mm banger. See our quartz bangers for thicker options that are more forgiving.
