How to choose
Match the tip to what you are handling. A scoop or spoon tip is the most forgiving and the best all-rounder — it holds softer, wetter consistencies without dripping. A pointed pick is made for hard, brittle material you need to break a piece off. A paddle or flat tip spreads material across the bottom of a banger so it vaporizes evenly instead of pooling. Double-ended tools give you two of these in one. On material: stainless steel is the durable default, titanium is lighter and takes heat well, and borosilicate glass is preferred by people who want nothing metallic near the flavor — just handle it with more care. Add terp pearls and a silicone mat and the whole setup gets noticeably cleaner.
Dab Tools & Dabbers FAQ
- What is a dab tool?
- A dab tool, also called a dabber, is a small handheld pick used to pick up a portion of concentrate and place it into a heated banger or nail. It keeps your fingers away from both the heat and the material.
- What shape of dab tool should I get?
- Use a scoop for softer consistencies such as badder or sauce, a pointed pick for hard and brittle material you need to break apart, and a flat paddle for spreading material evenly in the bottom of a banger. A double-ended tool covers two of these at once.
- Titanium, stainless steel or glass?
- Stainless steel is the durable everyday choice. Titanium is lighter and handles heat well. Borosilicate glass is favored by people who want no metal near the flavor, though it can break if dropped. All three work — it is mostly preference and how roughly you treat your gear.
- What are terp pearls for?
- Terp pearls are small spheres you drop into a banger. As you draw, they spin and move the concentrate around the hot surface, spreading heat evenly so less material is left unvaporized on the walls.
- How do you clean a dab tool?
- Wipe the tip with an isopropyl-alcohol cotton swab while it is still slightly warm — residue comes off far more easily then than once it has cooled and hardened.
- How fast do dab tools ship?
- In-stock dab tools and accessories ship fast from our US warehouse, typically within one business day.
