A
Ash Catcher
An attachment for bongs that catches ash and debris before it enters the main water chamber, keeping your piece cleaner and providing additional filtration.
Adapter
A glass piece that allows you to connect accessories of different joint sizes (10mm, 14mm, 18mm) or genders (male/female) to your bong or dab rig.
B
Banger

Beaker Bong

Borosilicate Glass

Bowl

Blunt Wrap

Carb Cap

Chillum

Concentrate
A potent cannabis extract including wax, shatter, budder, rosin, and live resin. Consumed using dab rigs or vaporizers.
Conduction
A heating method in vaporizers where herb directly contacts the heated surface. Heats quickly but may cause uneven vaporization.
Convection
A heating method in vaporizers where hot air passes through the herb. Provides more even heating and better flavor preservation.

Dab / Dabbing
The process of vaporizing cannabis concentrates using a heated surface (nail or banger) on a dab rig.
Dab Rig

Dab Tool / Dabber

Downstem

E-Nail

Filter Tip / Crutch

Grinder

Glass on Glass (GoG)
A connection type where glass pieces fit together without rubber grommets, providing better airflow and easier cleaning.

Hand Pipe

I
Ice Catcher / Ice Pinch
Notches or indentations in a bongs neck that hold ice cubes, cooling smoke for smoother hits.
J
Joint
Cannabis rolled in thin paper, typically cone-shaped. The most common method of smoking flower.
Joint Size
The measurement of the connection point on glass pieces. Standard sizes are 10mm, 14mm, and 18mm.
K
Kief
The fine, powdery trichomes that fall off cannabis flower during grinding. Collected in the bottom chamber of 4-piece grinders.
L
Live Resin
A type of cannabis concentrate made from freshly harvested, flash-frozen plants, preserving more terpenes for superior flavor.
M
Male vs Female Joint
Glass connection types. Male joints insert into accessories; female joints receive inserts. Most bongs have female joints.
N
Nail
The heated surface on a dab rig where concentrates are vaporized. Made from quartz, titanium, or ceramic. See nails.
Nectar Collector

O
One-Hitter
A small pipe designed for a single hit, ideal for discreet, controlled consumption. Often used with dugouts.
P
Percolator (Perc)
A filtration device inside a bong that creates additional bubbles and diffusion. Types include tree, honeycomb, showerhead, and matrix percs.
Pre-Roll Cone
A pre-shaped rolling paper cone ready to be filled with ground herb. Easier than rolling from scratch.
Q
Quartz

Recycler

Rolling Papers

Sherlock

Small balls (usually quartz or ruby) placed in a banger that spin when dabbing, distributing concentrates evenly for better vaporization.
Terpenes

Titanium
